On August 3, famed singer-songwriter Billie Eilish released an official live performance video for her hit song “Male Fantasy.” The clip begins with Eilish’s signature breathy notes as she sits comfortably in a classically designed bedroom set. In another corner of the room, viewers can see brother and co-producer Finneas playing guitar to accompany Billie’s beautiful voice.

With her adorable plaid skirt fanned out on the golden sheets, Eilish sings the chorus: “’Cause I loved you then, and I love you now / And I don’t know how / ‘Cause it’s hard to know when nobody else comes ’round / If I’m getting over you / We’re just pretending to be alright, convince myself I hate you.”

Seen in the full version of the lyrics, “Male Fantasy” is a reflection on two failed relationships—one with a best friend and the other with a lover. However, Eilish explains how she’s unable to get over such connections. At the end of the day, “Male Fantasy” actually serves as a love song—the vocalist still immensely caring for these individuals despite their dismantled associations.

In the meantime, the Grammy winner remains busy with her upcoming film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. The movie is said to honor her hometown and latest albumHappier Than Ever, which dropped on July 30. With exclusive guest appearances and fun concert-like performances, fans will not want to miss its September 3 premiere on Disney+.
