Amazon Prime’s ‘Panic’ Won’t Be Getting a New Season
Amazon Prime’s TV show Panic won’t be getting a second season. The show premiered on May 28; the young adult show failed to connect with its audience.
Based on Lauren Oliver’s best-selling novel, the show centers around a small town in Texas. Every year, graduating seniors compete in an event called ‘Panic,’ which consists of various challenges based on the participants’ fears. Twenty-three competitors join the challenge. Among them are Heather Nill (Olivia Welch), Ray Hall (Ray Nicholson), Natalie (Jessica Sula), and Bishop Mason (Cameron Jones), who will battle it out for the prize. Whoever wins receives $50k and a chance to leave the town. Shortly after the show’s release, a three-part companion novella was released along with an audible version in which Jones, Nicholson, and Welch lend their voices.

Panic was on the new shows that Amazon Prime ordered alongside the popular young adult show The Wilds. Panic didn’t connect with the viewers like The Wilds did, which led to its cancelation. Fortunately, the show did tell a full story of the game Panic, so it ended on a complete note with no cliffhangers.
There are a bunch of new shows fans can look forward to on Amazon Prime. A new season of The Wilds will be released, but the airdate is unknown. A reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer will air sometime during Halloween, and a new series called Hot Pink starring Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sarah Michelle Gellar is in the works. The first season of Panic can be streamed on Amazon Prime.
