Minka Kelly, Dominic Fike, and Lil Meech Join the Cast of ‘Euphoria’
Minka Kelly, Dominic Fike, and Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr. are joining the cast for the second season of HBO series Euphoria. While the details are unknown, Kelly is rumored be playing a jaded, drugged-out suburban housewife. Lil Meech’s character is speculated to play Maddy’s (Alexa Demie) love interest. Fike described his character in an interview as a “homie” who hangs out with Rue and Jules and a “degenerate” who reminds him of his younger self.
Euphoria follows a group of teenagers battling their addictions and inner demons. Rue (Zendaya) is a seventeen-year-old drug-addict who is trying to stay clean. Rue’s friend, Jules (Hunter Schafer), is a transgender female who is trying to find her place. Moreover, Nate (Jacob Eldori) is a jock who has a volcanic temper, and football star Chris(Algee Smith) is trying to adjust to life after high school. Cassie’s (Sydney Sweeney) past comes to haunt her. Kat (Barbie Ferreira) is self-conscious and wants to explore her sexuality. The teenagers endure sex, drugs, friendships, love, identity, and trauma.

While information about the second season is kept tight-lipped, production of the second season was put on pause in March of 2020 due to COVID-19. Shortly after, two episodes were released. During an interview, Schafer shared what she hoped for her character, Jules, in the upcoming season. “I hope this growth and interrogation of Jules and what she wants and ultimately finding newer and healthier intimacies in her relationships, which I hope will be more queer and more healthy. I hope that will continue.”
The second season is expected to release either later in 2021 or early 2022. Fans can stream the first season on HBO Max.
