Netflix just dropped a new poster, and the new trailer, which opens with Earth Pony Sunny’s father telling her a bedtime story which begins, “Once upon a time, Earth Ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns lived together peacefully.” Earth Pony Sunny sleepily asks why they can’t be friends anymore.

The next day she’s wandering around town, and Unicorn Izzy drops in out of nowhere which has everyone screaming, losing their mind. With her purple coat and cotton candy blue hair, she’s clueless as to why everyone’s hiding, assuming it’s a game of hide-and-seek, shouting as sweet as possible, “I see you.”

Earth Pony Hitch comes on to the scene and scoops up someone’s baby pony out of what he thinks is harm’s way of the non-threatening unicorn and fumbles the child into the hands of the wrong pony parent. Unfortunately, he’s too busy into his heroism to notice.

Sunny takes Izzy back to her tree home to protect her from the chaos and asks if she can do magic. She instantly tosses a can of baked beans in the air which opens and lands on the floor. But, unfortunately, that’s the extent of her magic as she explains that unicorns lost their magical powers.

Sunny insists she’s taking her to Zephyr Heights, the pegasus city, to discover what happened to their magic powers. They run into Pegasi Pipp and Zipp and their friends, and the next thing you know, they’re doing pony makeovers at the spa with cucumber eye masks and lots of glitter, of course, so that everyone’s donning a unicorn horn to fit in.

There are some challenges ahead to bring all the ponies together, including a prance off competition with Alphabittle when Sunny’s skills are questioned. There’s a crab, some penguins, and a herd of fluffy rabbits leading up to a red carpet paparazzi pony moment with Queen Haven, that will pretty much have every generation feeling nostalgic or loving this very new take on the pint size pastel pony scene.
