Rihanna’s New Perfume Sells Out in One Day
Rihanna is a very accomplished woman. She has become one of the first female self-made billionaires, launched a makeup line called Fenty Skin, sold hundreds of millions of copies of her music, received fourteen billboard music awards, and now her new gender-neutral perfume, Fenty Eau de Parfum launched on August 10 and sold out in one day. The Only Girl singer, 33, celebrated by eating caviar for breakfast.
In the press release, Rihanna explained how the perfume and its fragrance embody everything she loves.
“I wanted a rich color that really represented all genders from across all walks of life. Brown is my favorite color. Brown is who I am. Brown is what I come from. If I’m going to make a fragrance that represents me, even the body language of the bottle needs to marry that. So, I wanted something brown, but also transparent – so you could see the liquid and the fragrance you’re about to experience.”
The scent is described as “sweet and spicy,” inspired by her favorite places: Bridgetown, Barbados, Grasse, France, New York, Paris, and Los Angeles. In addition, her mother helped fuel her love of all things perfume, crediting her for her masterpiece.
“My mom actually worked in the beauty-and-fragrance industry, so she’d always get a lot of samples and introduce me to the scents when she came home.”

The perfume has various undertone scents, such as coconut, vanilla, bergamot, blueberry, magnolia, musk, and patchouli. The singer collaborated with Louis Vuitton’s master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.
“That’s the thing I love the most,” Rihanna said in a statement. “It’s an experience; it’s a memory, encapsulated into a fragrance. One smell, you’ll never forget it.”
