Dua Lipa and Elton John Release New ‘Cold Heart’ Remix
Dua Lipa and Elton John have joined forces for the song “Cold Heart,” remixed by the Australian trio PNAU. For fans of John’s music, “Cold Heart” should sound familiar, as it’s actually a mash-up of two iconic songs in his long catalog. His 1972 smash hit “Rocket Man” and 1989 song “Sacrifice” are fused together, creating “Cold Heart.”
Both artists have taken to social media to share the exciting news of getting to collaborate. Lipa calls John “a friend and a hero,” two words she cannot believe to be saying in the same sentence. John, on the other hand, calls this track the “culmination of a beautiful friendship.” The English singers are confident that fans will love the duo.
Although this is their first collaboration released on music streaming services, the two have worked together in the past. John famously hosts an Oscars after-party, but he opted for a virtual format due to the ongoing pandemic. The party had been done in an effort to raise money for the AIDS Foundation. John enlisted the help of various artists, one of them being Dua Lipa. The “Physical” singer sang the iconic “Bennie and the Jets” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” The duo also performed “Levitating,” “Pretty Please,” “Hallucinate,” and “Don’t Start Now” from her second album, Future Nostalgia. By the end of the night, a whopping $3 million had been raised.
Today, on August 13, the two have come together to share a music video for the mash-up “Cold Heart.” The video features an animated John and Lipa dancing along with animated dancers. “Cold Heart” brings the colorful visuals and pays homage to Lipa’s Future Nostalgia era, as several stills show the animated persons dancing in outer space. The song is pop excellence, and fans are loving it.
“Cold Heart” is the latest summer bop. The song is available on all major music platforms. Fans can watch the fun music video above.
