Michael B. Jordan Shares Poster for New Movie ‘A Journal for Jordan’
Michael B. Jordan recently shared the movie poster for his upcoming drama film, A Journal for Jordan.
Jordan shared the poster for A Journal for Jordan on Instagram. In the poster, Jordan stares down longingly at his love interest, Chanté Adams. The Black Panther star captioned the post, “Just in time for the holidays! There’s no love without sacrifice. @ajournalforjordan based on a true story. Exclusively in theaters 12/25.”
Based on the true story by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dana Canedy, A Journal for Jordan is a love story between Sgt. Charles Monroe King (Jordan) and Dana (Adams). King is deployed in Iraq and keeps a journal of love and advice for his newborn son, who will grow up without a father.
The film is directed by Denzel Washington and written by Virgil Adams. Jordan produced along with Washington, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.
Jordan told USA Today that he felt ready to take a break from action films like Without Remorse and Creed. “I’ve done a lot of physical roles because that’s been my appetite. I’m 34; the last seven years have been (about) physically developing into your sweet spot.” He revealed that with A Journal for Jordan, “I felt safe to be able to go into this, to explore these characters, and to be vulnerable in that type of way.”
The actor said that working with director Washington was “a master class of character development and directing.” He stated that “Everybody wants to work with him, and he’s a very selective guy. So the fact that he wanted to work with me was a huge deal for me.”
