Lorde Releases New Album ‘Solar Power’
Lorde released her new album Solar Power on Friday, August 20. This is the singer’s third full-length album following Pure Heroine, released in 2013, and Melodrama released in 2017.
Lorde appeared on Good Morning America on Friday with an interview and performance in Central Park, which makes almost two years since the show’s last in-person appearance. In the interview, she talks about the sun as an inspiration for Solar Power, explaining that nature has positively affected her well-being. When asked about her upcoming world tour, she smiles and jokes with fans, saying, “I don’t want to tell you too much.”
Lorde released her new single “Mood Ring” along with a music video on Tuesday, August 17, just three days before Solar Power. It was the third single she released from the new album, following “Solar Power” and “Stoned at the Nail Salon.”

A few hours before the release of the “Mood Ring” video on Tuesday, The Late Late Show announced on Twitter that Lorde would appear on the show from August 23-26. Fans commented enthusiastically on the post, many of them hoping that the “Liability” singer would film a “Carpool Karaoke” segment with host James Corden.

Lorde also released a New York City rooftop performance video of “Dominoes,” one of the songs on the new album. Her collaborator Jack Antonoff joins her on guitar. Check out the video below.
