This past Monday, Grammy Award-winning rapper Drake took to Instagram to confirm the release of his forthcoming album, Certified Lover Boy. The announcement of the highly anticipated album was accompanied by art designed by British artist Damien Hirst.

The long-overdue album’s artwork consists of a collage of 12 pregnant woman emojis in different skin tones and shirt colors that mimicked Hirst’s artistic flair.

Die-Hard Hirst fans may also notice that his 2005 art piece, The Virgin Mother, is evidently adopted into the rapper’s sixth forthcoming album cover.

According to Pitchfork, the new album announcement follows a rather cryptic snippet which aired on ESPN’s SportsCenter that entailed a person holding a sign that read “CLB September 3”.

Certified Lover Boy was first announced back in August 2020, followed by the release of the official music video for “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” featuring Lil Durk. The album was initially set to release this past January but was postponed due to the 34-year-old rapper recovering from a leg injury.

Last year the “One Dance” rapper broke a record in becoming the rapper with the most top 10 Billboard Hot 100 Hits and ended the year with hitting No. 1 eight times for “Toosie Slide.” With Certified Lover Boy on its way, it would be no surprise if the Canadian rapper breaks even more records by the ending of this year.

Certified Lover Boy will officially be dropping this Friday, September 3, 2021. For fans, be sure to keep an eye on Drake’s official Instagram to stay updated.
