BTS has broken a number of records in their career. Now, the group will officially be in 2022 Guinness World Records, shattering 23 records. Guinness World Records announced the big news on Thursday.

“BTS have collected a jaw-dropping 23 Guinness World Records titles across music and social media – an amazing result also achieved thanks to the enthusiasm of their fans, the ARMY. As for their ability to have fun, amaze, and communicate through music and dance moves, as well as their dedication for breaking records that is certainly what marks BTS as the perfect fit for our Hall of Fame 2022!”

In one year, the band set 11 wide-spanning records. In addition, they are the most streamed band on Spotify with 16.4 billion streams. Their hit song “Butter” landed in the top 5 most streamed songs in 24 hours (11 million streams), most viewed premiere music video on YouTube (3.9 million views), and most viewed music video in 24 hours (108 million views). Furthermore, “Butter” broke the record of longest number 1 song on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart, remaining number 1 for 18 weeks. The previous song that held the record was one of BTS’s smash hit “Dynamite.”

In addition, they are the most followed band on Instagram with 48.9 million follows and have the best-selling album in South Korea. Other records the boy band broke include most Twitter engagement for a music group, most tickets sold for a live-streamed concert (756,000), and most Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards won by a music group (5). Guinness World Records wrote the following in an announcement about BTS’s impact on culture.

“Despite their young age, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have left a mark in the present cultural landscape, breaking free from the limitations of their home market and of a language, South Korean, that remains widely unknown to the international public. In fact, through their art, the seven artists are raising awareness around Korean culture and language (which earned them the ambitious 5th class of the Order of Cultural Merit, the Flower Crown).”

Besides breaking 23 records, the group will have a two-page spread in the 2022 Guinness Book of World Records. Also, they will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Fans can stream their songs on Spotify.
