The month of September recognizes the achievements and contributions of Hispanic Americans who have inspired others to achieve success.

Every year America celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month starting September 15 through October 15, by celebrating the history and culture of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, The Caribbean, Central, and South America.

Hispanic Heritage Month began as a commemorative week when it was first introduced in June of 1968 by California Congressman George E. Brown. The push to recognize that this celebration should be more than a week started to gain momentum throughout the 1960s when the civil rights movement was in action and there was a growing awareness of the United States’ multicultural identities.

Puerto Rican rapper, Jean Carlos Santiago Perez (Guaynaa) announces booking his deal with CMN and the importance of sharing his culture with the world. He rose to fame with his 2019 viral song “ReBoTa” and within that same year, he signed with Universal Music Latino and Republic Records.

Guaynaa stated in an interview with E! News that an international tour is being discussed. “It’s a nice opportunity that brings our art and our show to different parts of the world.” he says.

He highlights the important month by connecting Latinx Cultures through his music to his fans. He fuses different sounds like rap and pop together. In doing so, he hopes that this will allow his fans to feel more a part of Hispanic Heritage Month.

Many of his fans kickstart the celebration by listening to his multicultural music. His fan tweeted the song and he retweeted it.

Furthermore, Guaynaa cares about the culture he is sharing with the world. He believes that his platform is meant to spread human rights.
