This fall, FOX will be unleashing new drama series, Our Kind of People. The new series will be based on the book, Our Kind of People: Inside America’s Black Upper Class by Lawrence Otis Graham and will be serving black excellence at its finest with a star-studded cast.

FOX will be introducing a new, refreshing story for fans to follow about the Black members of the ultra-high-net-worth elite starring America’s Next Top Model’s Yaya Dacosta.

The upcoming drama will be set in a secluded, ultra-wealthy Black community in Oak Bluffs, aka the “The Black Martha’s Vineyard.” The story will revolve around single mom/entrepreneur Angela Vaughn (Dacosta) who moves back to the upscale area from her childhood to reclaim her family’s name while relaunching her innovative Black hair care line to empower the melanated beauty of Black women.

She soon learns a dark secret about her mother's past after moving back to the elite community in Massachusetts that turns her world upside down with grounds to cause a raucous in Oak Bluffs.
