Saweetie Arrives At The Met Gala In Glittering Christian Cowan Gown
Icy girl Saweetie made her inaugural walk up the Met steps one that won’t soon be forgotten. Her custom Christian Cowan gown was designed in just twenty-four hours and is adorned with 10 million crystals, tying into this year’s American Fashion theme with a personalized cape.
The 2021 Met Gala is buzzing with all the creativity and ideas that have been pent-up since last year’s event had to be postponed due to social distancing regulations. Expectations may have been high, but Saweetie checked all the boxes without even breaking a sweat. The “My Type” rapper radiated confidence and glamour, from her sleek glittery bob down to the matching strappy heels that would make even Cinderella’s slippers jealous.

The gown came together quickly and serendipitously, and couldn’t have been more perfectly suited for the star. Not only did it fit like a glove, but there was also a personal twist to the design; both the Black American heritage and Filipino flags were represented on the dramatic train. These are the two sides of Saweetie’s heritage, and what she says “makes me an American girl.”
