Taylor Swift Graces Swifties With Surprise Drop

Ask and you shall receive. Or make it viral and Taylor Swift will gift you with a remake of her 1989 dreamy ballad “Wildest Dreams.”

This morning at 6 am, Taylor Swift surprised all Swifties with a “Taylor’s Version” classic. Swifties were taken by surprise when the pop star dropped “Wildest Dreams” because the next remake of her old classics is set to be the Red album, which drops on November 19. 

However, the latest TikTok trend circulating is of “Wildest Dreams” playing over a slow-motion filter that zooms into the subject, giving off “main character” vibes.  Being the newest celebrity edition to TikTok, Swift saw her song trending again and decided it was time to bring it back.

Since her battle to reclaim ownership over her highly-praised first five albums, Swifties are anticipating her updated versions.

Also, Swifties and celebrities are posting on their social media in excitement over their opportunity to relive their favorite album era. 

“Wildest Dreams (Taylor Version)” is still written by Taylor, but this time it is co-produced by Shellback and Christopher Rowe. The original version was co-produced by Shellback and Max Martin. 

This huge project to re-record all of her old albums, including introducing bonus songs, has been a fun learning experience to re-examine her old songs and add the newest version of herself today. Swift has always been true to her writing styles and creative visions for album designs, names, and music videos. 

When asked about the idea behind 1989, Swift replied, “I woke up and I [decided the album is] called 1989. I’d been making ‘80s synth- pop, so I thought I’m just gonna do that. I’m calling it a pop record. I’m not listening to anyone at my label.” 

Despite people criticizing her new turn to pop from country, Swift trusted her decision and made it happen. Now, 1989 is history, not just musically but also personally in all the lives of her fans. Music has a magical ability to connect people to a place, person, or time, making that moment more special.
