‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ Unveils New Trailer and Confirms Release Date
The newest installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, officially titled The Secrets of Dumbledore, is set to hit the silver screen on April 15, 2022. The release was initially scheduled for July 15, 2022; however, Warner Bros. studio confirmed that the premiere had been moved up by three months to land on Easter weekend.
The news of this earlier release date doesn’t come as much of a surprise when we consider Warner Bros.’s history of debuting major box office films over this holiday weekend. Notable movies like Batman v. Superman ($166M), Clash of the Titans ($61.2M), Ready Player One ($47M), and the most recent addition to the high-grossing collection, Godzilla v. Kong (which made $48M over five days).
Audiences are eager to see if the upcoming release will continue this trend of success.

David Yates, veteran director of the latter four Harry Potter films, is returning to direct the third installment of Fantastic Beasts. The storyline incorporates lore from the previous two films in the series, featuring Eddie Redmayne’s character Newt Scamander as a collector and tamer of mystical beasts.
Additionally, this third edition delves further into the history and different characters of the established universe, set to center around young Albus Dumbledore (played by Jude Law) in his battle against Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen). The official logline describes the film further, talking about Dumbledore working with “Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker.”

The main cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Mads Mikkelsen, Katherine Waterson, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, and Jessica Williams. Despite the cast change from Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Grindelwald to Warner Bros. welcoming Mikkelsen’s rendition, many fans highly anticipate the star-studded film.
