Fan’s anticipation for the actress’ performance only grew with the recent trailer. In earlier teasers released for the biopic film, we were given a brief look at the actress’ transformation into Princess Diana; however, the new trailer delves deeper and reveals more of Stewart’s stunning performance.
Larraín’s previous film, Jackie, earned fellow actress Natalie Portman an Oscar nomination following its release, and it only adds to the excitement toward Stewart’s performance. The film marks a pivotal moment for the actress’ career, marking a first among transformational performances for Stewart.

The trailer begins with Princess Diana arriving late for a holiday celebration with the extended Royal Family, adding tension to familial relations already on the brink of collapse. Throughout the rest of the trailer, we see many sides of Stewart’s portrayal of Diana.
The clip shows Diana’s uncertainty in appearing in front of reporters, forced to maintain her public image even as her personal relationship with Charles falls apart. In a haunting scene intercut through the trailer, Charles speaks directly to Diana, “there has to be two of you. There’s the real one and the one they take pictures of.”
These tense moments are contrasted by shots of Diana’s maternal nature, showing the mother of two playing around with her children and enjoying solitary moments with them despite the stressful atmosphere in the estate. The juxtaposition between these multiple personas and the poise with which Stewart portrays such complex emotions has fans and critics alike praising her for a powerhouse performance.
