Squid Games was originally released on September 17 and has already become number one of the top 10 in the world on the Netflix platform.

The disturbingly good show reveals a story about hundreds of players who accept a strange invitation to compete in the deadly squid-shaped game. The game comes with incredibly high stakes where a player can not only lose their chance at winning $40 million but also their own life.

On another note, viewers became so captivated by the thriller game series that it impressively reached number one in the world just four days after its release. According to The Things, the survival drama has secured the top spot as the most-watched show on Netflix since September 21st.

Co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos stated at Vox Media’s Code Conference in LA, “Squid Game will definitely be our biggest non-English language show in the world for sure.” He also added that the dark South Korean show could be the “most popular series, period.”
