Brandi Carlile performed her hit single, “Right on Time,” from her latest album, In These Silent Days on The Howard Stern Show on October 6. The singer was joined by bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth, also known as ‘The Twins.’

Brandi Carlile appeared as a musical guest on The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, where she performed “Right on Time” and a gorgeous cover of Elton John’s “Madman Across the Water.” The singer spoke about several topics with Stern, such as her latest album, her hero Elton John, performing on stage with one of her favorite bands, Soundgarden, and her sold-out tour that unfortunately came to a screeching halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

From her ten-song album, In These Silent Days, Carlile chose to perform the smash hit single, “Right on Time.” Stern admits that he was shocked to hear that Courteney Cox from Friends had directed the video. The singer recalls meeting Cox, and the two immediately hit it off. She also confirmed that the actress has “a good sense of rhythm” on the piano. Carlile discusses that Cox heard “Right on Time” and immediately began acting and planning out the singer’s music video.

Cox began to break down what she thought the message was behind “Right on Time.” Carlile tells Stern, “Courteney thought “Right on Time” was about these invisible obstacles you put in front yourself, and they can be huge. It can be as big as the elements, as big as fire and water… but they’re not really there.” This is a relatable idea, and Carlile hits unbelievable vocals, leaving fans stunned over the beautiful track.

In addition to Carlile’s original song, the singer also covered Elton John’s “Madman Across the Water,” his fourth studio album released in 1971. Carlile made the track her own, bringing out the guitars, violins, and of course, her vocals. She appeared to effortlessly cover the song, captivating audiences.

Brandi Carlile is coming off an exciting week of crazy press from In These Silent Days. Be sure to stream the album on all major music platforms. The singer’s performances on The Howard Stern Show can be heard above.
