British singer-songwriter Celeste has joined the lineup for the 10th annual LACMA Art and Film Gala. The event will take place on November 6.

The gala, as previously announced, will be honoring the work of legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg and artists Amy Sherald and Kehinde Wiley. The artists Sherald and Wiley are most notably known for their portraits of Barack and Michelle Obama. Sherald’s portrait, “Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama,” and Wiley’s “Barack Obama” will be on view at LACMA from November 7 to January 2 as part of the West Coast presentation of The Obama Portraits Tour organized by the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.

Speilberg, on the other hand, has created some of cinema’s biggest blockbusters. From Jaws to E.T The Extra-Terrestrial, and many others in between, it is safe to say that cinema would not be the same without him. LACMA CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director Michael Govan spoke of Speilberg’s contributions to the film world. He says in a statement, “Spielberg’s masterpieces of cinema continue to shape our culture. Art and film are both irreplaceable experiences through which we can better understand ourselves and others, and we are excited to once again bring the worlds of art and film together at this event.”

While LACMA is thrilled to honor this talented trio, the gala is equally eager to welcome soul singer Celeste. Eva Chow, who will be back as co-chair with actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio, has already revealed that Celeste’s performance will be the highlight of the night. She reveals in a statement, “Celeste has captured the world’s attention with her gorgeous, soulful voice and deeply moving songs.”

Chow is right about Celeste’s stunning vocals. The singer released her debut album, Not Your Muse in January, which was met with critical acclaim. She snagged a BRIT Rising Star Award and was nominated for “Best Original Song” at the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards for her song “Hear My Voice.”

The 10th annual LACMA Art and Film Gala will undoubtedly be a memorable night. Congratulations to honorees Amy Sherald, Steven Spielberg, and Kehinde Wiley. Celeste will also be an exciting highlight to this year’s gala. Be sure to stream Not Your Muse on all major music platforms.
