AMC+ Unveils New Twisted Thriller Series ‘Ragdoll’
AMC+ will be taking it up a notch by delivering the new psychological thriller series Ragdoll with a healthy splash of dark humor. The new international series will be based upon the novel written by Daniel Cole and will be premiering on the platform this November.
Starring popular Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale (DC Lake Edmonds), the British-set series will tell a hell-raising story about a team of detectives who take on a case of the “Ragdoll Killer” who cold-bloodedly dismembered six people and sewed their pieces together to resemble the actual doll.
The new series will also be starring Thalissa Teixeira (DI Emily Baxter), Ali Cook (DCI Terrance Simmons), and Henry Lloyd Hughes (DS Nathan Rose).

Ragdoll is a new genre for Hale, but she welcomes it with open arms. In an interview with E!, she stated:
“I knew that when I decided to do something else in the TV space, it would have to feel like something I had never done before and I needed a new creative outlet.”
The 32-year-old actress also added:
“The scripts were just really, really, really interesting because there’s obviously the dark or gruesome whodunnit, psychological thriller element. But I think that what makes this show different from other shows in the genre is this dark humor that the characters use to sort of navigate through everything, because humans, that’s just that’s our coping mechanism. And I think that in this line of work, I don’t know how you get through it, because otherwise it would kind of eat away at you.”

Written by Freddy Syborn and produced by Lizzie Rusbridger, the wickedly dark series will have viewers at the edge of their seats one minute and slapping their knees the next.
