Ariana Grande Launches New Beauty Line R.E.M.
Ariana Grande has teased her beauty line R.E.M. on Instagram for the past month with sci-fi-inspired posts. The project has been in the works for two years and has finally dropped it is now available.
The first release of her line is called Chapter One: Ultraviolet, it consists of 12 products for your eyes and lips. Her line is heavily influenced by her love for sci-fi, space, vintage, and horror.
In the singer’s teaser video for her beauty line release, you can see it has futuristic and outer space aspects as well as vintage.

Throughout Grande’s career, her love for sci-fi was showcased in her music videos, Instagram posts, and even Halloween costumes.
The first drop includes false lashes, eyeshadow palette, highlighters, eyeliner pencils and markers, liquid eyeshadows, and lipsticks that are all vegan and cruelty-free.
In chapter 1, the At the Borderline Eyeliner Marker, At the Borderline Kohl Eyeliner Pencil, Flourishing Volumizing Mascara, Flourishing Lengthening Mascara, Midnight Shadows Eyeshadow Palette, Dream Lashes, Midnight Shadows Liquid Eyeshadow, Utmost Importance Plumping Lip Gloss, On Your Collar Plumping Lip Gloss, On Your Collar Matte Lipstick, Practically Permanent Lip Stain Marker, and Interstellar Highlighter Topper.
The packaging of the products is influenced by the genre 60’s retro-futurism, all of the makeup is packaged in containers that resemble retro-futuristic objects.
Grande named her beauty line R.E.M. after her song on her 2018 Sweetener album. “REM stands for rapid eye movement: focusing on dreams and focusing on the eyes, and eyes being kind of like our best way to articulate—better than you can with words sometimes,” she explained the meaning behind her beauty lines name.
“I was nervous about [starting r.e.m.] because I don’t ever want to just jump into something that is popular. It has to feel super intentional and super fueled by passion. It has to feel super authentic to me,” Grande told Harpers Bazaar.
The singer took to social media to announce the release of her brand.

R.E.M. Beauty prices currently range from $15 for a lipstick to $24 for an eyeshadow palette.
Grande has had a very successful acting and musical career there is no doubt that her beauty line will be anything less than amazing.
