Jimmy Fallon, Ariana Grande, and Megan Thee Stallion Debut New Song ‘It Was A … (Masked Christmas)’

What do Jimmy Fallon, Ariana Grande, and Megan Thee Stallion have in common? They are officially the trio the music world did not know they needed until now. This holiday season, fans can now enjoy their hit song, “It Was A … (Masked Christmas).”

On December 6, actor and comedian Jimmy Fallon took to social media to share a surprise announcement: he would be releasing a single and music video with mega pop star Ariana Grande and ‘Hot Girl’ Megan Thee Stallion at midnight. The late-night show host shared an adorable animated video of the trio masked, holding hands, and swaying to the music.

“It Was A … (Masked Christmas)” is a pandemic-inspired song. Fallon reveals, “It’s basically about, like, how last year was just rough on everybody. And, you know, I just wanted to say, it’s going to get better. It really is going to get better, trust me.” Christmas 2020 had been a difficult one for many, but this year, (and with the help of this catchy tune), fans are more hopeful. The chorus adds to the hopeful tone with the words, “But it’s Christmas time / We’ll be in line for a booster.”

Megan Thee Stallion’s killer verses are also a strong example of coming out of the pandemic darkness when she raps, “This Christmas imma make it count / No more quarantine on the couch / This year hang that mistletoe / Imma kiss everybody that I know / This year’s different, you can tell / Deck those halls and jingle bells.”
