Hulu Releases New ‘How I Met Your Father’ Trailer
The trailer to the highly anticipated How I Met Your Father was released by Hulu on December 17. The 10-episode series premieres on January 18.
Get ready to suit up in the year 2022 because How I Met Your Father will be streaming on Hulu. How I Met Your Father is a sequel to the critically acclaimed How I Met Your Mother, the nine-season series that gifted fans 208 episodes of hilarious content and several touching moments.
It would be hard to create that same magic that How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays, and Craig Thomas crafted from 2005-2014; however, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the creators of How I Met Your Father, found their secret weapon: Hilary Duff.

In April, Hulu revealed that Hilary Duff joined the How I Met Your Father cast. The series follows the same idea of Josh Radnor’s role as Ted Mosby, where Bob Saget narrates Ted’s experiences before he finds his wife, the mother of his children. Duff is playing Sophie, who will be telling her son how she met his father. The trailer begins with Kim Cattrall, who portrays an older Sophie, telling viewers, “This is the story… of How I Met Your Father.”
Once Cattrall says those famous words, fans are catapulted into the chaotic world of Sophie’s (Duff) close-knit group of friends, Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Tien Tran), and Sid (Suraj Sharma). This is a much more different era than How I Met Your Mother, especially when it comes to navigating relationships in this digital age. In one part of the trailer, Sophie tells friends while riding in the back of a car that she has been on “87 Tinder dates this year” and shares her latest dating debacle.
Fans are understandably excited for all that is to come with How I Met Your Father. The trailer is available to watch above. In the meantime, fans can relive the fun by watching How I Met Your Mother on Hulu.
