SZA’s New Hit ‘I Hate U’ Sets Apple Music’s All-Time R&B Streaming Record
SZA’s newly released single, “I Hate U,” has set a record on Apple by becoming the most-streamed R&B song by a female artist within the first week. The sizzling hot track also marks the R&B songstress’ fifth top 10 entry on Billboard Hot 100.
Although “I Hate U” was initially released on SoundCloud this past summer, the song became so popular that SZA and her team decided to officially drop it on streaming services.

Prior to the official release, the 32-year-old took to her Instagram to announce the arrival of the hot new single. She wrote:
“Honestly this started out as an exercise. I just wanted somewhere to dump my thoughts w out pressure. Y’all made it a thing and I’m not mad lmao. Ask and u shall receive.”

Furthermore, “I Hate U” debuted at No. 7 on this week’s Hot 100 charts and scored No. 1 spot on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 globally in 10 countries, including the U.S. The track was also co-written by Robert Bisel, Cody Fayne, Carter Lang, and Dylan Price.

Not only does it mark SZA’s fifth top 10 song, but also her second top 10 debut song. It’s safe to say SZA’s reign will not be slowing down anytime soon.
