‘Fresh Prince’ Gets Even Fresher With the New ‘Bel-Air’ Reboot
Will Smith’s ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air just got fresher. The beloved show will officially have a reboot coming to Peacock in February.
For all of you Fresh Prince lovers the wait is almost over. The Prince that was born and raised in West Philadelphia but ruled in Bel-Air is officially back. The spin off of the family favorite has been anticipated for months and after seeing the official trailer, the wait is worth every minute.
The new reboot was formally announced in November of 2021 with an early teaser.
Morgan Cooper, the creator of Cooper Films, uploaded his self-made trailer for Bel-Air almost three years ago with more than 7 million views on YouTube. The trailer was seen and loved by Smith and now has him as an executive producer for this reimagined masterpiece.
Now named Bel-Air, the first footage gives viewers a small piece of the television enjoyment to come. In three minutes, you can tell that this will surely capture the audience from start to end. The show will have a modern twist but will keep the original skeleton of the OG sitcom. The drama is definitely heating up, but what is a good show without a bit of drama?
The serialized one-hour spin on the sitcom has an all-star cast: Jabari Banks as Will, Adrian Homles as Uncle Phil, Cassandra Freeman as Vivan, Olly Sholotan as Carlton, Coco Jones as Hilary, Akira Akbar as Ashley, Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey, Jordan L. Jones as Jazz, and Simone Joy-Jones as Lisa.
“Woke up feeling so much gratitude – it’s hard to find the words, just thankful and very proud to present the official BEL-AIR trailer,” said Cooper on his Instagram.
With this being such a hot topic, of course, there is a lot of talk on the upcoming show as it landed on Twitter’s trending list. Multiple reaction tweets on the reboot are seen with the hashtag #BelAir and #BelAirPeacock.
