Zendaya Stars in Sensational Squarespace Super Bowl Ad
Actress Zendaya stars in her very first Super Bowl commercial with narrator André 3000 in a tongue-twisting seashell-inspired advertisement.
The Euphoria star uses Squarespace to sell her initially slow seashell business into a seashell empire.
Inspired by the old nursery rhyme Sally Sells Seashells, Zendaya plays Sally, a seashell entrepreneur.
“Sally sold seashells by the seashore,” André 3000 begins. But instead of continuing into the nursery rhyme, he says, “[…]but the seashells didn’t sell so well. So Sally set up a seashell store on Squarespace.”
After the tale ends and Sally builds her seaside empire, she responds “shucks” to her mega-booming business with the help of Squarespace.
Zendaya also explained why she chose to form part of the commercial and spoke about the “beautiful and soothing” set design created by Baby Driver director Edgar Wright.
“As a creator myself, and a Squarespace customer since 2018, I understand the importance of having an online presence that truly represents you and your business,” Zendaya stated in an interview with People.
“I was incredibly excited to have the opportunity to work and create with Edgar Wright and André 3000,” she continued.
Zendaya’s ad now forms part of the ever-growing Super Bowl LVI commercials list, joining Pete Davidson’s Hellmann and Lindsey Lohan’s Planet Fitness commercial.
