Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney Opens up About Her Ultimate Story of Rags to Riches

Sydney Sweeney recalls how she emerged from a rough start in her acting career in GQ magazine’s British edition. Sweeney is known as Cassie in the Emmy award-winning show Euphoria. In the show, her character seeks validation and sleeps with her best friend’s boyfriend. In real life, Sydney is a free-spirited person willing to try anything.

“I cannot imagine just picking one thing and doing it,” Sweeney stated

Sydney grew up in a small town in Washington state named Spokane. She was very active as a child and participated in numerous sports. When she was 13, she would visit her local dojo, and there, she learned how to respect her opponents. The dojo also gave her a boost of confidence and adrenaline, inspiring her to be who she wanted to be.

Acting gave her the same sense of freedom. When an indie zombie film production was coming to town, she wrote a 5-year business plan to convince her parents acting was a reachable dream. The five-year plan did not go as imagined. She traveled back and forth from Washington to Los angles with no money throughout the five years. During this time, her parents lost their Spokane home and moved into a motel.

In the GQ interview, she makes a joke about her motel experiences. She says that they were living “the poor version of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” She recalled becoming friends with the hotel staff so that she could sneak off into the kitchen to make grilled cheese sandwiches.

After her 18th birthday, her goal of being a recognized actor fell into place. She landed roles on Everything Sucks!, Sharp Objects, and eventually, Euphoria

Her rise to success is one that you would never see coming. The obstacles and setbacks she had to go through to be in the forefront show immense bravery and perseverance. Sweeney stated that she wants the younger generation to know they can do anything, even with nothing.

“I’ve experienced the way that I don’t want to live, and I don’t want my future children to have to go through the same struggles or see me stress in the same way that my parents did,” she says. “Nor do I want to see my family have to stress the way that we used to.

Earlier last month, Sydney shocked the world with her mechanical skills. She created a Tiktok page so that her fans can follow her Journey to fixing her 1969 bronco. You can follow her on TikTok as she takes on another adventure.
