Silk Sonic Release New Cover of ‘Love’s Train’
Silk Sonic released an epic cover of “Love’s Train” to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The track originated from the group Con Funk Shun and was released in 1982.
Everyone was undoubtedly feeling the love this Valentine’s Day. Bruno Mars, half of the R&B super duo, Silk Sonic, announced that the duo would share their cover of one of their favorite songs: “Love’s Train.” Mars writes in an Instagram post, “Every time @anderson._paak and I get behind instruments, we play this. We love this song so much we wanted to sing it for y’all. #HappyValentinesDay Beautiful people.”
“Love’s Train” is a classic song that can be found in Con Funk Shun’s discography. The band was formerly known as Project Soul and found inspiration in legends such as James Brown and Sly and the Family Stone. The group gained popularity in the late 70s up until 1986, when the group decided to disband.
Silk Sonic’s surprise cover comes just one day after .Paak made a guest appearance at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, where he played drums during Eminem’s iconic performance of “Lose Yourself.” He called the experience an “honor” and gave a special shout-out to Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar for a memorable halftime performance.
Silk Sonic is an American R&B duo fronted by Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. In November, the duo released their debut studio album, An Evening with Silk Sonic. The record is groovy-sounding and pays homage to the seventies magic of R&B, funk, and soul. Their debut was met with critical acclaim, and fans are more than ready for new music.
Congratulations to Silk Sonic on another epic collaboration. Fans can stream their rendition of “Love’s Train” on all major music platforms.
