The focus of the six-episode series will adapt a romantic relationship between Henry and his wife Clare while displaying their complexities and difficulties in navigating love, loss, and connection due to Henry’s genetic disorder that causes him to travel across time. Clare, his wife, has no choice but to cope with his shortcomings and goings, which forms Henry’s continuous absence and disconnected presence, ultimately creating the essence of the classic tale.

With the adaptation of the novel by Steven Moffat, there isn’t a doubt that the following series would display a magical tale and narrative that enriches and evokes the emotions profoundly troubled within marriage, relationships, and vulnerability.

The former Doctor Who executive producer states, “What is thrilling of the interaction of time travel and a love story here is it makes the most common phenomenon of a completely happy marriage interesting again. Love stories, or love movies, tend to end at the altar. We never do the bit where people are perfectly happy for decades because it seems like a dramatic thing. By scrambling it all up and constantly reminding you that love is inextricably linked to loss, which is a cheery thought, you make this very common phenomenon of a happy marriage, thrilling and full of attention and tragedy,” He added,” “I do love a time travel story in general, as my career would suggest.”

Suppose time traveling wasn’t as complicated enough. Steven Moffat reassured fans by stating, “We can tell the whole story; the movie was a quite intelligently abbreviated version but abbreviating it, you miss all the detail and complexity and make it all about the time travel and not about the love story,” he said. In that case, it seems as though audience members are pretty excited and intrigued to see what the renewed adaptation would bring amongst the contrast of the 2009 version featuring the beloved Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

Based on Steven Moffat’s statement, it’s safe to say that this adaptation and version of The Time Traveler’s Wife will hone down on the specific details and accounts that display the workings and intricacies held in Henry and Clare’s love for one another. It may introduce the fathomable emotions that are brought amongst separation that is due to time travel. Moffat’s detail and complexity in investigating more profound existential questions are derived from a distance within relationships. In this case, “distance” represents the unfortunate yet beautiful parts of time travel.
