Billie Eilish and Finneas Release New Song ‘Nobody Like U’
Billie Eilish and her brother/co-songwriter Finneas O’Connell have teamed up and released a new song called “Nobody Like U.” This song is for the new upcoming movie, Turning Red.
“Nobody Like U” talks about young love. Some of the lyrics that imply this are: “You’re never not on my mind, oh my, oh my/I’m never not by your side, your side, your side/I’m never gon’ let you cry/oh cry/don’t cry.” This isn’t the only song the two have written for the movie. “1 True Love” and “U Know What’s Up” were also added to the list. The two songs are sung by the movie’s boy band, 4*Town, where Finneas voices the lead singer named Jesse. According to the film’s producer, Lindsey Collins, they’ve had Eilish and O’Connell in mind to write songs for the movie for a while.

“When we first started talking about Billie Eilish and Finneas – back before they’d won a billion GRAMMYs – we could see then how they had their finger on the pulse,” Collins explained in a statement. “We were big fans. We met with them and pitched this crazy idea of a boyband, asking if they’d be interested in writing and producing the songs. They were!”

Turning Red follows thirteen-year-old Meilin “Mei” Lee (Rosalie Chiang), who is conflicted between being a good daughter and the battles of teenagehood. Her overbearing mother, Ming (Sandra Oh), is always breathing down her neck, suffocating the teenager. As if being a teenager wasn’t difficult enough, Mei turns into a big red panda whenever she gets excited.
