WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story Adds Exciting New Cast Members

Weird Al Yankovic has excitedly shared an update regarding his forthcoming biopic, WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story. Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, Julianne Nicholson, and Toby Huss are united with Daniel Radcliffe, who is portraying the legendary parodist.

On March 2, Weird Al uploaded a shocking image of Rachel Evan Wood (HBO’s Westworld) embodying the iconic ‘material girl’ Madonna. Wood completely transformed herself into a 1980s era version of the pop singer, and fans are loving it.

Weird Al writes on Instagram, “It’s SHOOT DAY #14, my friends, and NOW IT CAN BE TOLD… Daniel Radcliffe’s co-stars in #WEIRDTheAlYankovicStory are Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, Toby Huss, and Julianne Nicholson!” Wood shared the same image, adding, “The secret’s out! I am having WAY TOO MUCH FUN playing the iconic Madonna in The Roku Channel’s WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.”

Madonna is a legendary performer who has won seven Grammys. In addition to this, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008. She crossed paths with Yankovic when he parodied her hit song, “Like a Virgin” with his take, “Like a Surgeon” in 1985.

Rainn Wilson, most notably known for portraying Dwight Schrute in The Office, will portray radio broadcaster, Dr. Demento. Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown) and Toby Huss (Dickinson) will star as Mary and Nick Yankovic, Weird Al’s parents.

Harry Potter lead Daniel Radcliffe was announced as embodying the actor and comedian back in January. Yankovic voices of Radcliffe, “I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.”
