In Euphoria, makeup has a special meaning to each character and their personality. “The thing that inspires me the most is when people take their own unique take on a makeup look from the show,” stated talented artist Davy. The most important aspect of the characters’ makeup is what they’re going through in the episodes.

For instance, who could forget about Maddy’s glamorous birthday eye makeup? Bold yet feminine, her makeup matches perfectly with her personality. Interestingly, it was Alexa Demie herself who had worked alongside Davy for Maddy’s looks. As the actress didn’t want to do something repetitive from the first season, she created a new theme. “Alexa meets Maddy,” stated Davy.

Her straightforward personality mirrors the sharp and thick black eyeliner that she rocks. According to Davy, the bathroom scene is a perfect example. She stated, “It’s just pretty terrifying when she’s banging on the bathroom door and so sharp and black, and then Cassie’s on the other side, sweating with her little twinkly rhinestones. It was that exact dichotomy of those two looks that I wanted to really get for that scene.”

Next, fans show love and support for Lexi (Maude Apatow). While Lexi rocks the simple red lipstick since season one, Davy plays with nerdy-retro eye makeup that mirrors Lexi’s personality. Davy explains that “it’s more of a small detail, which you don’t really see from across the room; you only really see it up close, and it just kind of shows that she’s starting to just play a little bit.” We loved to see Lexi truly shine in the second season.

For the second season, Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney) has two looks. A soft makeup look and a wannabe Maddy look. The classy Cassie makeup style has rhinestones and blue shimmery eyeshadow. According to the makeup artist, Cassie has a “baby doll kind of aesthetic with a little bit of a 1960s influence, and always with this kind of flushy, moist skin where you can almost feel the heat, and her nerves and her anxiety kind of busting through that”.

As Cassie tries harder and harder to get Nate’s (Jacob Elordi) attention, she experiments with a bolder look. Rather than floating rhinestones, she wears sharp white eyeliner that imitates Maddy’s sharp eyeliner look. It’s definitely weird to see Cassie copy her best friend, but she ends up grabbing Nate’s attention. However, fans know that you can’t outdo the doer.
