Florence + the Machine Release New Song ‘Heaven Is Here’
Florence + the Machine are back with new music. The English indie rock band fronted by Florence Welch shared the track, “Heaven Is Here.”
On March 7, Florence + the Machine dropped a brand new song and an accompanying music video. “Heaven Is Here” is a follow-up to the band’s previous single, “King,” released on February 23.
Welch teased her band’s return to the music scene last month when she shared yet another stunning image and accompanying music video to “King,” both courtesy of famed director and photographer Autumn de Wilde’s beautiful eye and creative vision.
The “Heaven Is Here” video was shot in Kyiv, Ukraine, in November. In the video, two of the dancers are sheltering as their home city remains under siege by Russian forces. Welch writes on Twitter, “To my brave and beautiful sisters Maryne and Anastasiia, I love you. I wish I could put my arms around you. Strength.”

Welch shared a statement about “Heaven Is Here,” revealing:
“‘Heaven Is Here’ was the first song I wrote in lockdown after an extended period of not being able to get to the studio. I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury, and grief was the first thing that came out. With dance studios also shut it was my dream to one day create choreography with it. So it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind.”
Congratulations to Florence + the Machine on yet another powerful song. Be sure to stream “Heaven Is Here” on all major music platforms.
