Sydney Sweeney Ditched Her Signature Blonde for New Strawberry Hues
On Sunday night, Sydney Sweeney debuted her new strawberry ‘do at the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The actress is joining Euphoria co-stars Zendaya and Barbie Ferreira in the year’s hottest hair trend.
Sweeney first shared her ginger locks to Instagram on March 1. In the photo, she’s looking away from the camera with minimal makeup, gold hoops, and a fiery bandana. The actress captioned the post “Penny Jo,” AKA her new character in the upcoming film National Anthem.
Halsey, Simon Rex, and Euphoria co-star Eric Dane are among those joining Sweeney in the National Anthem cast, according to Deadline. The film will follow a merciless search for a Lakota Ghost Shirt, a Native American garment sacred to many tribes.
Filming for Sweeney’s new role comes just after the shocking season two finale of Euphoria. In contrast to Cassie Howard’s extensive glammed-up beauty routine and somewhat erratic personality, Penny Jo seems to have a much more low-key, down-to-earth vibe. We’re already itching to see the talented 24-year-old in the upcoming film.

In more personal news, Sweeney was recently spotted with a ring on a very special finger. Many speculate that the young actress is engaged. However, neither she nor her partner, Jonathan Davino, have confirmed the news yet.
