Dua Lipa is not only a pop star and occasional runway model, as she can now add actress to her resume. The 26-year-old Grammy-winning singer will be making her acting debut in Apple TV’s anticipated spy thriller Argylle, a new film by Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn.

Lipa was first announced in the casting of the film in July 2021. On March 10 she tweeted a still from the film where she is wearing a gold fitted dress, sporting a blonde bob while cozied up with co-star Henry Cavill. The image is captioned, “First look!! Coming Soon… #Argylle.”

Currently, we do not know much information about Lipa’s character. But, we can expect new music, as the title track and score for Argylle will feature original music by her.

Alongside Lipa and Cavill lies a cast of silver-screen veterans which include Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Ariana DeBose, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson.

The film has been created based on the novel by author Ellie Conway, which contains the same title. The novel is expected to be issued sometime in 2022. Viewers of the film will follow the global adventures of Argylle, the world’s greatest spy. It is expected to be the first of a minimum of three films in the franchise and takes place in locations around the world such as America, London, and others.

“When I read this early draft manuscript I felt it was the most incredible and original spy franchise since Ian Fleming’s books of the 50s,” Vaughn proclaims. He continues, “This is going to reinvent the spy genre.”

Be sure to be on the lookout for the upcoming spy thriller Argylle, which is making its way to Apple TV in 2023.
