Best Seller, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, is Set to Become a New Netflix Film
BookTok lovers rejoice: Taylor Jenkins Reid’s bestseller, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, is being adapted into a Netflix original film.
On Thursday, Netflix Film announced on Instagram that the 2017 New York Times Best Seller is in the process of becoming a movie. “⭐️Bestseller THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO is coming to Netflix!⭐️,” the Netflix Film account wrote in their caption.
The tale follows the tumultuous life of old Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo as she recounts her rapid rise to fame and many marriages. During Hugo’s final days, she is adamant about sharing her deepest, darkest secrets with reporter Monique Grant. But no one knows why.
Liz Tigelaar, the creator and executive producer of the Emmy nominated series Little Fires Everywhere, is set to adapt the film. Before her Hulu series, Tigelaar was the showrunner and executive producer of the Golden Globe-nominated comedy-drama Casual.
For Tigelaar’s latest project, 3Dot Productions’ Liza Chasin and Circle of Confusion’s Brad Mendelsohn are joining the team. Executive producers Reid and Margaret Chernin will also join.
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is not the only Jenkins Reid’s novel hitting the big screen. Her other bestseller, Daisy Jones and the Six, is currently on track to become a Prime Video miniseries.
Featuring big names like Sam Claflin, Riley Keough, and Suki Waterhouse, and produced by Amazon Studios and Reese Witherspoon, the 1960’s rock n’ roll drama is bound to be a hit.
