Jessica Biel is set to play the role of Candy Montgomery in an upcoming limited Hulu Series, Candy. The series will premiere on May 9.

The true crime, drama series, Candy, is about a typical 1980s housewife, Candy Montgomery, who has the perfect life; a nice house in the suburbs, an ideal husband named Pat Montgomery, two kids, even the perfect secret affair. But nothing can be perfect for long. Struggling to deal with life, Montgomery lashes out in an attempt for a little bit of freedom, leading to deadly consequences.

The series is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery, who was acquitted for killing her friend Betty Gore in self-defense after Gore confronted Montgomery about her affair with her husband, Allan Gore.

The news of the series was announced back in July 2020, with Elisabeth Moss set to play the lead role in the series, but she backed out due to scheduling issues.

The cast of Candy includes Jessica Biel, Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), Timothy Simons (The Hustle), Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black), and Raúl Esparza (Hannibal).

Executive producers for the limited series are Robin Veith (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit), Michael Uppendahl (Adam), Nick Antosca (The Act) with Alex Hedlund (Chucky) under Antosca’s production company, Eat the Cat, Jessica Biel (The Sinner) and Michelle Purple (Cruel Summer) will executive produce under Iron Ocean. Veith has also written the pilot script, and Uppendahl will also direct the pilot.

Hulu has released the teaser for the upcoming series. You can watch it below.

We cannot wait to tune in on May 9 to watch the epic story of Candy, exclusively on Hulu.
