Olivia Rodrigo Wins Big at the Grammys

The Grammys was a huge success for Olivia Rodrigo where she took home three awards. In addition to winning three Grammys, the “Good 4 U” singer, 19, was nominated for a whopping seven awards.

The Grammys was a huge success for Olivia Rodrigo, where she took home three awards. In addition to winning three Grammys, the “Good 4 U” singer, 19, was nominated for a whopping seven awards.

The young singer had tough competition from talented artists. Ultimately, Rodrigo was victorious when she won Best New Artist, beating various artists, such as Japanese Breakfast and Finneas. Sour took home Best Vocal Album and “drivers license” scored Best Solo Performance. Rodrigo was nominated among different artists like Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and Billie Eilish but she was the one to claim victory.

Rodrigo was presented the award by artists Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion. When receiving Best New Artist, the “Brutal” singer was overwhelmed with emotion with tears filling her eyes. She began her acceptance speech by thanking everyone who’s helped her get to where she’s at.

“Thank you so much to the Recording Academy,” she stated, “This is my biggest dream come true. Thank you to everyone at Interscope, especially John Janick, for believing in me and my songwriting before anything else.”

The Grammy-winning thanked her loved ones and Dan Nigro, “I love you guys. A huge thanks to Dan Nigro, who made all of my music with me. Dan, you are the best friend, collaborator, and person I could ever ask for, so this is all because of you, so thank you.”

Rodrigo rose to fame by starring in Disney XD’s Bizaardvark. She eventually joined the new generation of East High students in Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Shortly after the Disney+ original was released, she would sign onto a record deal where her debut song “drivers license” would shoot her to stardom.
