Apple TV and Tom Hiddleston partnered up for an upcoming limited series, The White Darkness. The series is based on David Grann’s nonfiction novel of the same name.

The series will follow the adventures of Henry Worsley (Hiddleston), a soldier, husband, and father that holds honor and sacrifice as the highest virtues in life. Being obsessed with adventures and seeking a new one, Worsley decides to travel across Antarctica on foot. The series will show the elements of a “spellbinding story of courage, love, family, and the extremes of human capacity.”

So far, we know a few confirmed cast members for the limited series: Hiddleston (Loki), Soo Hugh (The Terror), and Mark Heyman (Black Swan). They also serve as executive producers for the series alongside Theresa Kang-Lowe (Pachinko) and Carole Gariety under Kang-Lowe’s production company, Blue Marble Pictures.

Apple Studios and UCP will produce The White Darkness.

The White Darkness marks the second partnership with Hiddleston and Apple TV. Hiddleston paired up with Apple TV before in The Essex Serpent, an upcoming Apple TV series.

The premiere date for The White Darkness hasn’t been announced yet. Still fans of Loki, Pachinko, and Black Swan can’t wait to see Hiddleston, Hugh, and Heyman’s new project.
