DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Will Not Be Renewed for a New Season
Hang up your super suits and capes because DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will not be getting a new season. The series ran for seven seasons, debuting in 2016, and has now come to an end.
Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Keto Shimizu broke the bad news via Twitter, “Well, folks. It’s been an incredible run. However, the CW has let us know that there will be no season 8 of #LegendsOfTomorrow. We are heartbroken, but also immensely grateful for the amazing work our cast, crew, and writers have contributed to the little show that could.”
Shimizu continued, “Thank you to our fans; your love and passion for our strange band of misfits has made every break, every script, every daily, every cut, and every mix worth all the hard work. We see you, we love you, and you’ll always have a place on the Waverider.”

The cancelation is in place because of The CW’s parent companies, Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount Global. These companies are considering selling the TV station, possibly to Nexstar, a major TV company. Legends of Tomorrow wasn’t the only CW original on the chopping block. Batwoman ended after three seasons.

Based on DC Comics, Legends of Tomorrow centers around a group of superheroes protecting and preserving history. After a time paradox goes wrong, the ragtag team must time travel to fix the damages the paradox has done. Unfortunately, the final episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving it up to the viewers’ interpretation of what happens next.

While it is disappointing that the series ended, all episodes are available to stream on Netflix.
