Lady Gaga Releases New Song ‘Hold My Hand’
Lady Gaga is back with new music. The “Stupid Love” singer unveiled “Hold My Hand,” the track that will appear in the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack.
Lady Gaga is already chasing that next Oscar nomination. Gaga shared the powerful cinematic ballad “Hold My Hand” on May 3. The “Rain On Me” singer announced the single on April 27. In her initial Instagram post discussing the single, she revealed that she had worked on the song “for years.” “Hold My Hand” contains multiple layers, with Gaga naming “the film’s heart, her own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in” as the inspiration behind the emotional piece.
Prior to “Hold My Hand” being released into the world, Gaga took to Instagram to share her last-minute thoughts on her new single. She begins by telling fans that not only did she write the song for the incredible Top Gun: Maverick film, but also for the “people who feel like they’re not gonna be ok or WE ARE never gonna be ok and that life taught me through hard times to have faith in humanity when it’s hard to have faith in yourself.”
Gaga’s social media has been flooded with Top Gun: Maverick posts. On May 2, she performed the final date of her Jazz & Piano residency, a show that first began in Sin City back in January 2019. Her final show had special guest Tom Cruise in attendance. She shared heartwarming photos of the duo kissing each other on the cheek backstage. Gaga captioned the post, “Thank you for coming to the show last night. I love you my friend @tomcruise.”
“Hold My Hand” is destined to become a Best Original Song contender at next year’s Oscars. The track is written by Gaga and BloodPop with additional production by Benjamin Rice. “Hold My Hand” is available to stream on all major music platforms.
