Netflix Releases Trailer for Their New Original Film BEAUTY
On June 15, Netflix released the trailer for their upcoming film BEAUTY on YouTube. The movie can be streamed on Netflix starting June 29.
Directed by Andrew Dosunmu and written by Lena Waithe, BEAUTY follows a young singer named Beauty and her rise to fame. Close to a promising music career, Beauty deals with pressure from her parents, the music industry, and her relationship with her girlfriend. Set in the 1980s, the film “pays homage to Black female powerhouse vocalists like Whitney Houston and Patti LeBelle” by looking at art, its commercialization, and black and queer identity.
