Fans Respond to COVID-19 Protocols for Shawn Mendes Meet & Greets During ‘Wonder: The World Tour’
Prior to the beginning of the Shawn Mendes ‘Wonder: The World Tour,’ fans received an email regarding COVID-19 guidelines for his meet and greets.
if anyones interested in reading the whole email for m&g testing!

truly feel a weight taken off my shoulders that this is happening, it’ll keep us AND shawn safe, while allowing m&g to still happen. pic.twitter.com/wju2yBIsYb
Regardless of vaccination status, VIP ticket holders will be asked to present a negative PCR test, which must be taken within 48 hours of check-in. They will also be asked to take a rapid antigen test, which will be provided at the venue. Masks will also be required during the meet and greet, except while taking photos with Mendes.
“Shawn’s top priority is to protect his fans’ and crew’s health so he can continue to play shows for you in a safe environment,” his team writes. “Failure to adhere to the above protocol will result in a forfeited in-person meet & greet.”
The fans of the 23-year-old Canadian singer have mixed reactions to his COVID policies, but most do not mind and are actually very happy about them.
by wearing a mask during m&g, you’re protecting yourself, shawn, AND the longevity of tour.

some people would do practically anything to have your m&g, so please don’t complain about simply having to wear a mask. ❤️
The things lI’l do for @ShawnMendes ❤️

Honestly I’m very happy about this. lI’l feel a lot safer. I was already planning on wearing a mask. This will be my first Covid test ever. pic.twitter.com/EwsJRXwq9h
However, there are some attendees that are not so pleased with the new protocols.
So the great experiences from SM3 tour- Shawn touching people’s hands, hugging during IMB, running through the crowd?! Seems these things wouldn’t be safe either? 🤔

Covid protocols should apply to Shawn as well. Not just fans. 😷@ShawnMendes @ShawnAccess @MikeSleathDRUMS @ConnorBrashier @JosiahVanDien#WonderTheWorldTour

Although most fans are fine with the testing and masking requirement, there are many questions and concerns floating around as well.
does anyone know what would happen if you do test positive for covid for shawn mendes tour? would they refund your money?

new fear unlocked: getting covid and being turned away from my shawn mendes m&g

One concern that many fans are worried about is the PCR test aspect. The PCR test must be taken within 48 hours of check-in, and many are worried that their results won’t arrive on time. It can also be difficult to find PCR tests in a short period of time.
very grateful Shawn’s team is taking these precautions seriously but getting a PCR result within 48 hours is difficult 💔

i still don’t see how they expect us to get a pcr within 48 hours of check in and also get those results back in that time frame . pcr test take days to get back results maybe longer depending on how backed up labs are that handle them

Fans attending VIP sessions at Mendes’ Canadian shows will not only have to worry about their results coming on time but also about where to find an affordable PCR test.
How do I get a guaranteed 48 hour PCR in Canada without paying $200? Is this even possible?
— Gavin (@guccigavin) June 20, 2022
i love u shawn but i don’t think you realize how hard it is to get a pcr test without spending $200+ in canada 😭
