Prior to the beginning of the Shawn Mendes ‘Wonder: The World Tour,’ fans received an email regarding COVID-19 guidelines for his meet and greets.

Regardless of vaccination status, VIP ticket holders will be asked to present a negative PCR test, which must be taken within 48 hours of check-in. They will also be asked to take a rapid antigen test, which will be provided at the venue. Masks will also be required during the meet and greet, except while taking photos with Mendes.

“Shawn’s top priority is to protect his fans’ and crew’s health so he can continue to play shows for you in a safe environment,” his team writes. “Failure to adhere to the above protocol will result in a forfeited in-person meet & greet.”

The fans of the 23-year-old Canadian singer have mixed reactions to his COVID policies, but most do not mind and are actually very happy about them.

However, there are some attendees that are not so pleased with the new protocols.

Although most fans are fine with the testing and masking requirement, there are many questions and concerns floating around as well.

One concern that many fans are worried about is the PCR test aspect. The PCR test must be taken within 48 hours of check-in, and many are worried that their results won’t arrive on time. It can also be difficult to find PCR tests in a short period of time.

Fans attending VIP sessions at Mendes’ Canadian shows will not only have to worry about their results coming on time but also about where to find an affordable PCR test.

With the North American leg of the world tour being four months long, it is understandable that Mendes and his team are establishing these guidelines to keep him, his fans, and everybody on his team safe and healthy.
