Searchlight Pictures released its trailer for the upcoming movie Not Okay, starring Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien. Fans can stream it on Hulu starting July 29th.

Opening on a lurid, red background and piercing white letters, the trailer for Not Okay warns audiences of an extremely unlikable main character. The trailer doesn’t hold back. With flashes of horrified reactions and general hatred for protagonist Danni Sanders (Zoey Deutch), audiences can’t help but wonder what she did this time. Even the official Twitter account for Not Okay apologizes in advance.

At its core, Not Okay is about a lonely influencer trying to attain fame. However, the plot thickens when Danni Sanders fakes an entire trip to Paris. The movie heightens her desperation when she pretends to visit Paris. The trailer showcases her thorough photoshop handiwork. After tragedy strikes Paris, all of the attention is on Danni. She befriends Rowan (Mia Isaac), a school-shooting survivor, and falls for Colin, played by the handsome Dylan O’Brien. Although Danni dreamed about newfound fame and meaningful relationships, the truth inches closer and closer to the light. This dark comedy aims to expose the lengths people will go to achieve fame and protect their reputation while keeping it relevant to social media.
