Full House actress Jodie Sweetin was shoved by the Los Angeles Police Department during a pro-choice protest that took place this past weekend.

WARNING: This article mentions and shows a video of police brutality.

In the video captured by Michael Ade, we see Sweetin being pushed around by three police officers near an entrance of a freeway ramp. One police officer shoves Sweetin, which leads to the 40-year-old actress tripping over a curb and falling to the ground. After her fall, three other protestors help her back up. She brushes herself off and collects herself before continuing to lead the group of protesters.

Sweetin was “trying to lead a group of peaceful protesters away from the freeway,” according to Ade via his Instagram caption. “Jodi is the definition of a real one and fortunately she’s okay.”

The Los Angeles Police Department told PEOPLE that they “are aware of a video clip of a woman being pushed to the ground by officers not allowing the group to enter on foot and overtake the 101 freeway. The force used will be evaluated against the LAPD’s policy and procedures.”

On Wednesday morning, Sweetin joined CNN’s New Day segment to discuss the moments leading up to the shove and why she is so passionate about women’s rights. She mentions in the interview that she has seen protestors being treated worse.

“I’ve seen protestors get hit by cars. I’ve seen them denied medical service,” the Full House actress states. “There’s some videos, some young girls, maybe 15 or 16, that are also being wrestled to the ground by police officers.”

Due to last week’s Supreme Court decision of overturning Roe vs Wade, hundreds of protests have erupted around the country.

“I’m passionate about doing things that affect other people,” Sweetin tells CNN. “I’m in shock that in 2022 in America, we have lost that right to choose.”

Here at Glitter, we are thankful that Sweetin is doing okay and still fighting for women’s rights. As protests are happening around the country and police brutality is at an all-time high, it is important to stay safe and careful.
