Mean Girls Is Trending After Its New Return to Netflix, That Is So Fetch
Get in, losers; we’re watching Mean Girls. After a long hiatus, the beloved 2004 film recently returned to Netflix, and of course, it’s already the talk of Twitter, Instagram, and, well, all of social media.

Recently, Netflix has added ‘2000s classics like Zoey 101 and Ned’s Declassified: School Survival Guide to their collection, making viewers hold on to their subscriptions a little bit longer, but this addition just topped them all.
In less than 24 hours of its return, the movie dominated Netflix’s “Top 10” list, and rightfully so. It features a star-studded lineup including Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Jonathan Bennett, and Tina Fey.

The Y2K staple, written by Fey and adapted from the novel Queen Bees and Wannabees, tells the story of Cady Heron (Lohan), a new transfer student from Africa, who quickly finds herself torn between two cliques when she ditches her “loser” friends for the popular “Plastics.”
Mean Girls is a quotable classic and even celebrates its own holiday on October 3; remember, that’s when Aaron (Bennett) asked Cady what day it was. You can’t listen to “Jingle Bell Rock” without stomping around in some pumps or putting butter on your bagel without wondering if it’s a carb.

The film’s success has led to spinoffs and adaptations decades later, like Ariana Grande’s iconic “thank u, next” video and the 2017 Broadway show, which is now being made into a new film.
Be sure to call out *cough* *cough* sick, and check out Mean Girls on Netflix.
