Co-created by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, the renewal of the series comes after Apple TV+ had only released five out of the ten episodes. The first episode was released on Apple TV+ back in June.

Head of Apple TV+’s programming, Matt Cherniss, stated, “Thanks to Maya, Alan, Matt, and the entire incredibly talented ‘Loot’ cast and creative team who have created a show filled with captivating and endearing characters, and hilarious and heartwarming moments throughout each episode.” He added, “This show has captured the hearts of global audiences, and we can’t wait for season two.”

Loot follows the story of Molly Novak (Maya Rudolph), who is going through a public divorce with her husband of 20 years and is trying to figure out what to do with her $87 billion settlement. With the help of Sofia Salinas (MJ Rodriguez), her assistant Nicholas (Kim Booster), and her team, Novak decides to reinvent herself as a philanthropist and goes through the journey of self-discovery. The show also features Ron Funches, Stephanie Styles, and Nat Faxton.
