Three-time Emmy winner Derek Hough is up for another award, alongside Tessandra Chavez, for their work in the ABC pre-Oscar special Step Into… The Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough. In this piece, Hough and his dancers reimagine Moulin Rouge’s “Roxanne” with a powerful Argentine Tango. They utilize Amber Riley’s vocals to reexplore the scene based on their interpretations, as per director Baz Luhrmann’s suggestion. While Hough is no stranger to the Emmys roster, this is the first time the academy nominates him for a project in which he is an executive producer.
