Amsterdam Releases New Trailer Packed With Famous Faces
The most anticipated crime film of the year dropped its first trailer. 20th Century Studios released the first trailer for Amsterdam, starring Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, John David Washington, and other acclaimed celebrities on July 6.

Amsterdam gained media attention for its sizeable, star-studded cast. Its most notable faces include Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, John David Washington, Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, and many others.
As 20th Century Studios describes it, Amsterdam will follow “three close friends who find themselves at the center of one of the most shocking secret plots in American history.” Furthermore, the studio advertises it as a “fascinating and richly intricate tale that brilliantly weaves historical fact with fiction for a timely, cinematic experience.”
Beyond that beautiful—yet vague—description, the trailer revealed some essential plot points. Firstly, the trailer opens on a corpse in a makeshift box and Chris Rock’s stunned expression. As Robert De Niro teases in the trailer, “My friend was killed because of something monstrous that he had seen.” Now, a nurse (Margot Robbie) and two veterans (Christian Bale and John David Washington) must flirt with danger to uncover the truth and clear their names.

Behind the Scenes of Amsterdam
Behind the scenes stands David O. Russell. Previously, Russell worked alongside Christian Bale on 2013’s American Hustle. Before that, Russell gained immense recognition for writing and directing Silver Linings Playbook. Both movies landed him an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Directing.
Recently, the media has been eyeing the film’s trio and its upcoming projects. Greta Gerwig is filming Robbie’s upcoming movie Barbie. Robbie gained attention after the Internet obsessed over the colorful, flashy costuming choices. Meanwhile, Bale was occupied with filming the latest Marvel movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. In the film, Bale plays Gorr the God Butcher, the most chilling villain Thor has faced. Meanwhile, John David Washington starred alongside Zendaya in Netflix’s Malcolm and Marie.
